Tom Lake is Vice President of Purchasing at Honda North America, Inc. responsible for optimization of the supply chain that supports Honda’s automobile operations. He leads the direct and indirect procurement groups as well as the technical team that drives supplier performance and operational efficiency improvement.
Lake joined Honda in 1987 during the initial development of its domestic supplier network, which now provides over $26 billion in materials annually.
Furthering advancement in the Purchasing and Supply Chain fields, Lake is an active member of the CAPS Research Executive Advisory Board. He advocates for supplier diversity as a member of the Board of Directors for the National Minority Supplier Development Council.
A native of Cleveland, Lake earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, and he continues to support business education in cooperation with several local colleges.
