Director - Global Powertrain Purchasing

In this position, Solomon is responsible for approx. $15B of annual purchases of engine, transmission and driveline components and assemblies supporting FCA’s powertrain and assembly plants worldwide. He is also responsible for Purchasing Program Management for the global engine and transmission programs ensuring cost, weight and Investment targets are met with suppliers who provide outstanding quality and on-time delivery.
Prior to taking this role, Solomon was responsible for Global Standardization & Benchmarking at FCA, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer. In this role, Solomon was tasked to develop and grow FCA component standardization strategies for all vehicle architectures worldwide.
Solomon started his career in 1986 at American Motors and has held positions of increasing responsibility in manufacturing, Supply Chain, Product Development and Purchasing over his 32 years.
He holds an undergraduate business degree from Michigan State University and an MBA from Wayne State University.
